Job Description
Position Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for aQuality Analystto join ourWest Hartford, CTteam. This role will provide quality assurance Chemical Lab support to internal and external customers across all departments. It is instrumental in implementing theQuality Assurancestrategy of the company to ensure a continuous flow of products consistent with established industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain safety awareness of chemical handling and operation of lab equipment
- Maintain proper laboratory supply inventories
- Track and maintain periodic testing schedules
- Send periodic test samples to outside labs and review reports
- Cross section and polish steel parts
- Perform chemical analysis of processing baths (acid-base titrations)
- Conduct microscopic analysis of etched steels
- Follow procedures to complete various QC tests
- Develop, prepare, and maintain inspection process sheets
- Train employees in the use of lab equipment
- Develop quotations for components, including make/buy analysis
- Provide quality support to improve process performance and capability
- Offer expertise in quality assurance and process improvement tools to support continuous improvement activities
- Develop, implement, and audit inspection and test plans, standards, acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions; investigate and eliminate quality problems and follow-up on corrective actions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Science, Technology, Quality, or another technical field
- 1-3 years’ experience in a Quality Lab Analyst position within a complex manufacturing environment
- Aerospace and applicable regulatory authority knowledge/experience desired
- Understanding of standards, implementation, and certification processes of Quality Management Systems such as AS9100, ISO-9001, or other industry-specific standards/regulations
- Ability to interface effectively with all departments and levels of the organization as well as with customers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Travel: Ability and willingness to travel approximately 5%
