Overview:

Mechanical Engineer with Central Utility Plant Expertise!

In this role, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to projects that span healthcare facilities, corporate headquarters, laboratories, museums, government buildings (local, state, and federal), higher education campuses, and infrastructure improvements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Central Utility Plant design and steam systems.
  • Expert knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
  • Extensive understanding of standard engineering practices, techniques, and procedures.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external clients to address complex engineering challenges.
  • Be responsible for HVAC engineering design including: calculating heating and cooling loads, select equipment, layout duct and piping, create and edit project details, and write and edit project engineering specifications.
  • Lead client management and team coordination.
  • Participate in design review meetings and workshops.
  • Resolve a variety of complex design challenges including conflicting Owner and project requirements, application of different system types, or challenging field conditions.
  • Research design options and document findings for the project team.
  • Assure drawings and designs are in accordance with local codes and design standards.
  • Coordinate with architectural and engineering disciplines as applicable.

What you will need to have:

  • B.S. degree: in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
  • 8 years minimum: of consulting engineering experience with emphasis on Central Utility Plant design for multiple client types.
  • Professional Engineer: registration recognized by a state licensing board.
  • Steam and Hot Water Boiler: Plant systems.
  • Chiller plants: of 1,000 tons or greater.
  • Knowledge in building controls: is desired but not required.
  • Software skills: Revit, BIM, Trane/Trace and Microsoft Office required.

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $95,000 - $120,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
