Job Description
Position Overview
As the IT Operations Lead – Telecom for Field Telecom, you will drive the delivery of operational services and products for the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) under the Deepwater Line of Business. Working within the PT-UP-IG-RES Service & Operations Management (SOM) team, you will support Shell’s strategy to competitively optimize production while advancing technologies in the energy transition journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver all Field Telecom operational services and products for the Gulf of Mexico (GOM), including managing a shared resource pool with onsite and offshore rotations.
- Serve as a key member of the Deepwater SOM team with responsibility for asset service delivery and coordination with global/regional teams.
- Review existing services and drive continuous improvement and innovation through the identification of systemic issues in IT landscapes.
- Ensure compliance with information risk management (IRM), IT controls, Health and Safety policies, and legal regulations.
- Manage operational readiness for new demands, changes, and projects, including efficient Major Incident (MI) management and service restoration.
- Participate as a member of Emergency Response Teams and support crisis, incident, and hurricane response operations.
Required Qualifications
- Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in IT, including leadership in IT operational service delivery and contract management.
- Experience in a multi-disciplined IT environment with a strong background in Data Center operations, infrastructure, and security.
- High degree of technical networking expertise including traditional (IP) networks and field telecom solutions (Satellite, Microwave, Fiber Optics, etc.).
- Experience in offshore IT infrastructure projects and deployments with proven stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills along with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Willingness to work outside regular hours to support incidents and emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cisco router, switching, and/or security certification is an advantage.
- Prior exposure to TA2 and TA3 certifications is beneficial.
