Position Overview

In this role as Senior Mechanical Engineer on our national Power Generation team, you will support the development, contracting, and implementation of natural gas and renewable energy generation projects. Your contributions, from leading mechanical teams to coordinating with multi-discipline professionals, will help change the world for the better.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the project mechanical team and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Monitor and communicate project status on natural gas and renewable energy projects.
  • Provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects.
  • Develop deliverables such as construction drawings, bid specifications, equipment sizing calculations, technical memos, code reviews, feasibility studies, reports, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure projects adhere to codes, budgets, and schedules while managing multiple assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in project execution within the Power Market sector.
  • Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard design software (e.g., PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
  • Commitment to actively contributing to an employee-owned culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design.
  • Experience with gas turbines, steam turbines, and/or large reciprocating engines.
  • Design experience with simple cycle, combined cycle, distributed generation, or RICE power systems.
  • Background in an engineering power consulting or EPC firm is desired.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments with excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to mentor less experienced engineers and EITs.
  • Experience working within established schedules and budgets, with less than 10% travel.

  • Compensation: Targeted salary range of $108,661 - $204,250 based on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
