Junior Level Structural / Civil Engineer

Position Overview

Tierra, Inc. is actively seeking a Junior Level Structural / Civil Engineer to join our Facilities Consulting team in Location: Winter Garden, Florida. Prospective candidates should have the immediate ability to submit a resume and list of references while demonstrating an interest in the building envelope industry, performing evaluations/investigations, and delivering quality assurance/control services. They should also be prepared to conduct field work and communicate technical details effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Help conduct field investigations and analyze failures involving the building envelope
• Perform Quality Assurance inspections for on-going construction projects
• Perform Field Quality Control Testing
• Write detailed technical reports documenting field work
• Perform basic engineering calculations
• Communicate with contractors, tradesman, and clients

Required Qualifications

• Experience Required: 0 to 2 years experience, preferably with a construction background
• Hold a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to defend and support conclusions
• Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing approximately 50 pounds or more
• Ability to climb onto roofs, ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc.
• Willing and able to travel throughout the State of Florida
• Schedule: Willing to work a flexible schedule and additional hours during periods of peak business demand
• Organized with the ability to work independently and efficiently on multiple projects
• Adaptable with the aptitude and willingness to learn new skills and techniques
• Team oriented
