Job Description
Position Overview
Join our team at Walgreens where you will help deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience while supporting pharmacy operations. In this role, you will register sales, assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in processing prescriptions, and ensure compliance with state, federal, and company regulations. You will also support inventory management, merchandising, and special assignments while participating in ongoing training and personal development to maintain your PTCB certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Models and delivers a distinctive customer experience by greeting customers and offering assistance with products and services.
- Registers sales on the assigned cash register and provides courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service, including handling cash transactions, voids, returns, refunds, and exchanges.
- Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision by using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
- Engages customers and patients by resolving issues and sharing customer service best practices.
- Maintains clean and well-merchandised counters and shelves, takes inventory, and ensures proper pricing as directed.
- Processes manual claims for third party prescription services and handles telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist’s personal attention.
- Supports pharmacy operations by assisting with inventory management, scheduling, and work flow, while adhering to Good Faith Dispensing policies.
- Assumes additional responsibilities such as web pick-up duties, photo area customer service, and ensuring a neat store appearance.
- Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned by management.
- Participates in required training, maintains PTCB certification, and acquires continuing education credits.
Required Qualifications
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (Except in Puerto Rico).
- Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Prefer strong math skills for accurate prescription filling, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
- Prefer good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
- Prefer PTCB certification.
