Job Description
Position Overview
Founded in 1985, ATS is a multinational industrial maintenance company with a presence in the United States, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. This position plays a critical role in ensuring factories run better by providing expert break-fix and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex systems, and mentoring team members to uphold high standards of equipment reliability and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs expert level break-fix and preventative maintenance—including diagnostics, dismantling, repair, replacement, and testing of devices and electrical/mechanical systems.
- Identifies and sources parts, supplies, and repair items; evaluates alternatives to improve equipment cost and reliability.
- Independently executes maintenance procedures in accordance with industry standards.
- Collaborates with customer counterparts to optimize maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Sets up and operates multiple machining operations—including lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools—and may perform welding tasks.
- Conforms to customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes.
- Documents work performed in service reports and management systems, including observations and performance data.
- Provides assistance and training to lower-level technicians and leadership within project teams.
- Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems to resolve software, hardware, and configuration issues.
- Utilizes advanced maintenance technologies to monitor equipment performance trends and offer recommendations.
- Completes on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.
- Adheres to all safety-related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines, maintaining situational awareness.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
- Associates degree with a technical focus and 10 years of related experience; or 12 years of experience in the industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems with the ability to analyze problems and perform repairs.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as required.
- Extensive travel required (Local, National); applicants can reside anywhere within the Continental U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in condition-based maintenance techniques, precision mechanical alignments, and maintenance of process equipment.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers, field device troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical drive and motor systems.
