Job Description

Position Overview

We are looking for an Entry Level Software Engineer to join one of our Fortune 100 clients in Columbus, OH. This on-site role requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and includes 12 weeks of immersive training (40 hours/week) to prepare you for immediate impact on day one.

During the training program, you will work in team-based settings, collaborate on diverse real-world projects, and gain the skills and certifications required to succeed with our enterprise and government clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new applications and enhance existing ones using various programming languages and frameworks.
  • Pay close attention to detail to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are supportable operationally.
  • Write well-structured, readable, and efficient code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve bugs to ensure smooth and efficient application performance.
  • Participate in code reviews, share feedback, and collaborate with peers to improve code quality.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including user guides and system manuals.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, programming techniques, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into clear technical specifications.
  • Assist in application deployment and testing to meet performance benchmarks and system compatibility.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams such as quality assurance, project management, and product management to ensure timely project delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 1 year of previous W2 experience in any field.
  • Strong understanding of programming principles, data structures, algorithms, databases, and SQL.
  • Experience with software development using Java, C#, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance after a comprehensive background check.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. under SkillStorm's W2 framework (not a C2C position).
  • Willingness to relocate if necessary.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
