Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the operation of distillation projects and hydrogenation reactors in a dynamic environment. In this role, you will act as a technical resource for operations personnel, optimize plant processes, and implement yield improvement and cost saving projects. Compensation: $100-115,000.00 annual salary, DOE; Location: Houston, TX; Schedule: M-F / 40 hours. This is a direct hire opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation of distillation projects and hydrogenation reactors, serving as a technical resource and optimizing plant operations through yield improvement and cost saving initiatives.
  • Lead the operation of distillation projects and/or hydrogenation reactors.
  • Learn and understand how campaign-related equipment and plant utilities operate.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Director to provide data and chemical engineering support for specific product campaigns.
  • Work closely with Technical Advising, plant personnel, and Quality Assurance teams to meet product specifications and optimize operations.
  • Assist the Engineering Department in developing cost-effective projects to optimize production and minimize working capital.
  • Develop procedures, prepare operating instructions, and troubleshoot operations when performance deviates from expectations.
  • Generate reports detailing mass balances, process data analysis, and de-bottlenecking proposals, while maintaining campaign-specific schedules.
  • Lead pre-campaign and quarterly improvement meetings to ensure smooth project execution and continuous process enhancement.
  • Adhere to the physical demands of the role, including prolonged standing and seated work, ladder and ramp use, lifting up to 25 lbs, and working under extreme heat while using required PPE.
  • Must be willing to participate in the 24/7 production facility call out policy as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: B.S in Engineering
  • Experience Required: 2-5 years work experience in an engineering role
  • Must be willing to participate in the 24/7 production facility call out policy
  • Ability to function and communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to obtain TWIC Card

Preferred Qualifications

  • Honeywell Experion and Microsoft Project experience is a plus
