Job Description

Position Overview

Chevron, one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies, is accepting online applications for the Wells Engineering Intern position.
The internship offers hands‐on experience working on projects alongside drilling, completions, and other engineering teams. Interns will engage in optimization studies, project look-back reviews, tool case studies, well design reviews, and safety/environmental performance studies while gaining exposure to Chevron’s renowned safety and technology culture.

Locations: Bakersfield, California; Covington, Louisiana; Houston, Texas; Midland, Texas; Greeley, Colorado.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in real projects alongside drilling and completions engineers, including studies and reviews that contribute directly to process optimization.
  • Spend time on drilling or well work over rigs or within the Decision Support Center to gain practical, on-site exposure.
  • Conduct tool case studies, safety and environmental performance studies, and contractor analyses.
  • Build relationships, develop professional networks, and explore long-term career opportunities at Chevron.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree program in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated strong academic performance along with excellent communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to drive on a routine basis, if required.

Benefits & Perks

  • Compensation: Anticipated range of $31.75 per hour to $9,200 per month, determined based on discipline, degree level, and academic year for U.S. payroll offers.
