Position Overview

Serve your country as a part-time physician without the need to relocate. As a Navy Physician and Officer in the Navy Medical Corps, you will deliver high-quality medical care to Sailors, Marines, service members, and their families. Focus solely on the practice of medicine with no start-up costs, malpractice insurance, staffing, or office management concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose ailments, treat injuries, and manage patient care to save lives.
  • Lead and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary Navy healthcare team, including military doctors and healthcare officers.
  • Engage in advanced training and gain valuable management experience that enhances your career.
  • Participate in both stateside and international assignments during scheduled drilling and annual training.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply with a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
  • Requirements: Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.
  • Qualifications: Eligibility for board certification and completion of at least one year of an approved graduate medical education internship.
  • Between 21 and 42 years of age (waivers granted on a case-by-case basis up to age 68).
  • U.S. citizenship (non-waivable).
