Position Overview

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Materials and Process Engineer located in Oklahoma City, OK. In this role, you will analyze, research, and develop advanced materials and their application processes for engineering design. You’ll work in a dynamic, collaborative environment at the forefront of aerospace innovation, contributing to critical systems that protect and connect our world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, research, and develop materials and related processes for engineering design and application in structures, systems, and subsystems.
  • Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and materials science to investigate material performance and issues.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, performing detailed technical reviews of drawings, specifications, and manufacturing plans.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Aerospace structural design, OR an MS degree in STEM with 0 years of related experience.
  • For Principal Engineer candidates: Bachelor’s in STEM with a minimum of 5 years’ related experience, OR an MS degree with 3 years’ experience, OR a PhD in STEM.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain in-scope DOD Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) (not needed to start).
  • Familiarity with composite pre-pregs, honeycombs, adhesive materials; as well as fabrication, assembly, and repair processes for aircraft composite and metallic structures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on military aircraft.
  • Proven ability in preparing and presenting oral and written reports.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science.
  • Experience addressing material obsolescence issues and qualifying new materials.
  • Familiarity with LO materials.

Benefits & Perks

  • Compensation: Primary Salary Range: $73,100.00 - $109,700.00; Secondary Salary Range: $90,300.00 - $135,500.00. Offers are based on the candidate's experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
  • Relocation Assistance: May be available.
  • Travel requirement: Approximately 10% of the time.
