Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Certified Cardiology Medical Assistant to join our specialized cardiology team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular patient care, medical procedures, and administrative support within outpatient and inpatient settings. The Certified Cardiology Medical Assistant will play a vital role in supporting physicians, managing patient interactions, and ensuring smooth clinical operations.
Duties
- Assist cardiologists with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms related to cardiovascular health.
- Measure and record vital signs accurately, such as blood pressure and heart rate.
- Support diagnostic testing procedures including EKGs (electrocardiograms), placing Holter monitors, event monitors and cardiac telemetry.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently by documenting patient information, test results, ICD coding for diagnoses, and treatment plans with precision.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing concerns promptly, maintaining confidentiality, and fostering a welcoming environment for diverse patient populations.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of cardiology-specific procedures alongside general medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems for documentation, scheduling, and billing purposes.
- Strong understanding of physiology principles relevant to cardiovascular health and emergency medicine protocols.
- Experience in medical administrative support tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient intake processing, and insurance documentation.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately.
- Familiarity with ICD coding standards for accurate diagnosis documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced settings.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively.
