The Construction Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for driving business growth through strategic sales efforts, relationship development, and targeted marketing initiatives. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships, supporting pursuit and proposal efforts, and strengthening the company’s market presence. The Sales and Marketing Manager works closely with executive leadership, estimating, preconstruction, and operations teams to secure profitable work and build long-term partnerships with owners, general contractors, and industry partners.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to generate new business opportunities within the commercial construction market.
- Identify, pursue, and qualify prospective clients, including General Contractors, Owners, Developers, Architects, and Consultants.
- Manage and grow relationships with existing clients to drive repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with Estimating and Preconstruction teams during bid pursuits to align strategy, pricing approach, and client expectations.
- Lead pursuit planning efforts, including go/no-go decisions, client positioning, and competitive analysis.
- Coordinate proposal development, marketing materials, and presentations in collaboration with internal teams.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site tours, industry events, and networking functions to promote company capabilities and build market presence.
- Communicate with GCs and Owners regarding project opportunities, scopes, schedules, and procurement strategies.
- Track and manage opportunities using CRM platforms and tools such as Building Connected and other lead management systems.
- Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to inform sales and marketing strategies.
- Work closely with operations and project teams to ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and manage marketing initiatives, including branding, collateral, website content, case studies, social media, and trade show participation.
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations, proposals, and capability statements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners that support company growth and core values.
- Represent the company professionally and consistently in all client and public-facing interactions.
Education and Experience:
- A degree: in construction management, business, marketing, or a related field is desired, but not required.
- 10+ years of experience: in construction sales, business development, or marketing, preferably in commercial construction.
- Strong understanding: of construction processes, project delivery methods, and estimating fundamentals.
- Proven track record: of developing new business and managing client relationships.
- Experience working: with construction drawings, scopes, and project documentation is preferred.
- Excellent communication: presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Highly organized: with strong time-management and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient: in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability: to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Physical Requirements:
The Construction Sales and Marketing Manager role involves office, travel, and field interaction. Physical demands may include:
- Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or preparing proposals
- Walking or standing during site visits, meetings, and networking events
- Occasional lifting of materials or marketing displays (up to 25 pounds)
- Visual acuity to review proposals, drawings, and marketing materials
- Ability to travel to job sites, client meetings, conferences, and industry events as needed
