KPMG is currently seeking an Audit Associate to join our Audit Services team. In this role, you will play an integral part in conducting financial statement audits, leveraging advanced technologies and data analytics, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of client financial information while upholding the highest standards of professional integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to conduct financial statement audits, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of client financial information while upholding objectivity and independence.
  • Prepare clear and well-structured audit documentation that details your understanding of client processes, IT systems, transaction flows, and control mechanisms.
  • Execute and document testing of client controls and financial statement account balances, identifying potential misstatements and control deficiencies with appropriate guidance.
  • Support high-quality audit execution by performing assigned tasks, engaging professionally with clients and team members, and utilizing enabling technologies such as risk assessment and data analysis tools.
  • Identify process improvements and audit efficiencies, support project management activities by tracking deliverables and coordinating action items.
  • Leverage Data and Analytics tools—includingAI, Excel, Alteryx, SQL, and Power BI—to assist in substantive audit procedures and documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have obtained or be pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Accountancy (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Must be meeting state-specific education requirements to become a licensed CPA, with all required academic credits completed before the start date.
  • Demonstrated quality service mindset with a strong foundation in technical accounting and financial reporting standards, including GAAP.
  • Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking, and research skills with proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and the ability to quickly learn KPMG audit tools.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and relationship-building skills; must reside within a commutable distance, be willing to travel, and be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics; experience with tools like Alteryx or Power BI is desired.
  • Demonstrated project management skills are a plus.
