Job Description

Position Overview

Join Kautex as a Process Technician on the 3rd Shift and play a critical role in ensuring that machines are set up, optimized, and maintained to meet strict quality standards. In this role, you will support continuous production improvement, adhere to safety and industry standards, and collaborate within a dynamic global automotive supplier environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and optimize machines to meet strict quality standards
  • Inspect molds and monitor production using detailed process controls
  • Coordinate with operators to ensure smooth production and timely machine adjustments
  • Assign and assist with machine, tool, and part repairs
  • Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the shift
  • Maintain production flow through quality assurance after machine optimization
  • Document shift activities, manage change points, and update process playbooks
  • Communicate machine issues with team leads and supervisors
  • Ensure compliance with EHS and IATF safety standards
  • Identify safety risks and participate in near miss incident analysis
  • Utilize a troubleshooting and problem solving mindset, working independently and as part of a team
  • Perform additional duties as needed and assist with other projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the plastics industry or equivalent
  • Experience in optimizing blow molding products is a huge plus
  • Knowledge of energy sources (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic)
  • Basic understanding of PLC controlled machines and automation
  • Welding/Fabricating experience is a nice plus
  • Forklift/Manlift certification and experience (training provided internally)
  • Familiarity with quality control schemes and various measuring techniques (calipers, gauges)
  • Knowledge of EHS protocols and guidelines
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • High school diploma or GED minimum education
