Position Overview

In this Sales Associate role with DePuy Synthes—located in San Diego, CA—you will provide exceptional clinical support and service in hospital settings, guiding surgeons with your technical expertise and fueling our drive to innovate in Orthopaedics.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the DePuy Synthes sales organization in retaining existing customers and converting new ones.
- Achieve established sales goals and market share objectives within the assigned territory.
- Guide and assist surgeons in the operating room by leveraging clinical and product knowledge.
- Present, demonstrate, and ensure proper utilization of DePuy Synthes products during surgeries.
- Support customers by attending surgeries, optimizing equipment availability, and providing consultation for Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, manage hospital billing processes, and handle purchase orders efficiently.
- Share key procedural and marketplace insights with sales, clinical, and marketing teams to enhance service levels.
- Prepare sales reports and document customer interactions accurately.
- Maintain and deploy equipment and assets to ensure constant product availability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, Associate Degree, or Medical Certification (CST, PT, etc.) with a minimum of 2–4 years of professional or related experience, or recent transition from active military duty.
- Ability to work in a lab/operating room environment with a valid U.S. driver's license and willingness to travel, including weekends or overnight when necessary.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, influencing, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and positive with a proactive approach to customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong technical product knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and protocols.
- Experience in a clinical or hospital setting supporting surgical teams.

- Compensation: Base pay of $70,000 plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus based on individual and company performance.
