Job Description

Position Overview

Are you interested in managing projects ranging from $1 million to $4 billion through key forecasting and accounting practices? As a Financial Analyst at Kiewit, an entry level role in Operational Finance within the Power Market, you will support project accounting and finance functions including cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, human capital management, and compliance. You will be a critical part of the month-end close process and help prepare financial reporting packages for project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recognize the importance of being a team player by adapting to project needs and assisting in other areas as needed.
  • Foster relationships with the Operations team and show a willingness to learn about the work.
  • Understand the payroll and HR process workflow and master systems used to hire, transfer, terminate, and pay employees.
  • Comprehend the purchasing process, invoice processing, and maintain purchasing workflow internal controls.
  • Troubleshoot payment or vendor issues by demonstrating understanding of the accounts payable process.
  • Manage intercompany and client billing processes ensuring timely and accurate billing documentation and cash management.
  • Review and adjust cost entries and reports to ensure compliance with company standards and accounting rules.
  • Identify, adjust, and review forecast and budget issues to confirm proper recognition of cost and revenue.

Required Qualifications

  • 0 - 2 years of financial/data analysis experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, or equivalent.
  • Ability to relocate anywhere in the country.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate as required (up to 50%).
  • Effective communication (both oral and written), organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies.
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and passion for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to access all parts of a construction site in diverse climates and environments.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship, now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and other key Excel functions.
  • Previous internship experience in a related field.
