Position Overview
The OPERATIONS & MGMT CONSULTANT II - SES is a supervisory role within the Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) that performs complex administrative and consultative work. This position provides operational and management coordination for the Local Workforce Development Board (LWDB) in Region 23 in Miami, FL, and is responsible for directing staff, ensuring compliance with performance standards, and supporting critical workforce services. Compensation: $55,000.00
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative direction, supervision, and consultative services to DEO staff and LWDB Region 23.
- Supervise, schedule, and evaluate assigned staff; review and approve time and attendance reporting.
- Facilitate staff meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews to ensure high service quality and compliance with HR policies.
- Coordinate program activities, including customer intake, job readiness assessments, and career counseling services.
- Prepare manuals, monitor performance metrics, and assist the Director in day-to-day operations and problem resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Must obtain Tier 1 certification as a Workforce Professional within one (1) year of employment.
- Pass a Level 2 security background screening (including fingerprinting and law enforcement records check).
- Willingness to travel locally and, on occasion, outside the county using a personal vehicle.
