Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Aviation Systems Engineer
to join their advanced engineering team. This critical role involves the design, integration, testing, and validation of complex avionic systems for next-generation aircraft. You will work on cutting-edge projects, contributing to the development of state-of-the-art technology. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in aerospace engineering, with expertise in systems engineering principles, avionics hardware and software, and regulatory standards (e.g., FAA, EASA). A deep understanding of aircraft integration and flight control systems is essential. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, flight test personnel, and project management to ensure the successful delivery of robust and reliable aviation solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to the systems engineering lifecycle for avionic systems, including requirements definition, architecture design, integration, and verification & validation (V&V).
- Develop detailed system specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and system design documents.
- Perform system analysis, simulations, and modeling to assess performance, reliability, and safety.
- Oversee the integration of avionic subsystems, ensuring compatibility and seamless operation.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures for hardware and software components and integrated systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues identified during development, integration, and testing phases.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations, standards, and certification requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, airframe manufacturers, and suppliers.
- Support flight testing activities, analyze test data, and implement necessary design modifications.
- Contribute to risk management activities and implement mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on avionic systems.
- Proven experience with system requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
- Strong understanding of avionics hardware and software integration, real-time operating systems, and communication protocols (e.g., ARINC 429, AFDX).
- Familiarity with aircraft system architectures and flight control systems.
- Knowledge of aviation certification processes and standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254).
- Experience with simulation and modeling tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
