Graphics Artist/Designer at KENS 5 San Antonio, TX

Position Overview

KENS 5 in beautiful San Antonio, TX is seeking a Graphics Artist/Designer to join our award-winning marketing team. In this role, you will create the overall look for the station—from on-air to digital and outside media. You’ll collaborate with a fantastic team of creatives as well as work closely with the News, Marketing, and Sales teams to bring ideas to life. You must have a reel of your work and motion graphic experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design motion and still graphics for broadcast, digital, social, and internal projects.
• Create traditional print and digital assets.
• Develop graphics packages for specials, documentaries, and news coverage/content.
• Write creative briefs and production plans to keep projects on time and on message.
• Position direct reports to the Marketing Director.
• Exhibit a sharp eye for editing and design, particularly with typography and motion graphics/animation.
• Work independently with the ability to “get things done” even with little or no direction.
• Maintain solid organization and time management in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage, prioritize, and track multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Adapt quickly and “think on your feet” to handle last-minute changes.
• Independently identify, assess, and solve problems or improve processes.
• 3D and print design skills are a plus.
• Understanding of digital and social media marketing is a plus.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience at a small-to-medium broadcast TV station or within a corporate marketing/creative agency.
• Degree from an art school or equivalent qualification in art and design.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong skills in motion/graphic design and video editing.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign, and Illustrator).
