Job Description

Senior Systems Administrator (Enterprise Infrastructure)

CANDIDATE MUST LIVE IN PHILADELPHIA OR WITHIN A 20 mile radius

We are working with a rapidly growing, well-established technology company who is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join a growing IT team. This role will serve as a hands-on technical expert supporting core Windows-based infrastructure while helping establish best practices, standards, and long-term stability across the environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Active Directory / Azure AD (Entra ID) environments
  • Group Policy design, implementation, and troubleshooting
  • Identity, access, and directory services management
  • Lead Windows Server administration, including:
    • New server build-outs
    • Upgrades and lifecycle management
    • Establishing best practices and operational guidelines
  • Manage and support VMware infrastructure
  • vCenter, ESXi, and virtual machine performance
  • Oversee backup and recovery operations
  • Veeam configuration, monitoring, and testing
  • Support and maintain storage and SAN environments
  • Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure system performance, availability, and reliability
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide root-cause analysis
  • Document systems, configurations, and procedures to support operational consistency
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support enterprise applications and infrastructure needs

Required Experience & Skills

  • Strong experience with Active Directory / Azure AD (Entra ID)
  • Deep knowledge of Windows Server administration in enterprise environments
  • Hands-on experience with VMware (vCenter, ESXi)
  • Experience supporting backup solutions (Veeam preferred)
  • Working knowledge of storage and SAN technologies
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Azure infrastructure experience
  • Microsoft 365 administration
  • Intune and/or SCCM exposure
  • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Experience in hybrid cloud environments
