Job Description
Position Overview
This full-time position is with the Tennessee Department of Transportation – Bureau Chief of Administration in Davidson County, Nashville, TN. The role is part of the Information Technology Office Division – Product Lifecycle Services Section and involves developing, maintaining, and modifying business software applications. Compensation: $60,600 - $75,720 annually (Monthly: $5,050.00 - $6,310.00).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and modify software applications in accordance with design specifications.
- Analyze and process data, design databases, and develop test plans within multi-user environments.
- Code, troubleshoot, and document system functionalities to ensure accurate program execution.
- Collaborate with stakeholders – including business users, supervisors, and technical peers – to gather requirements and validate system improvements.
- Continuously update technical skills by researching new programming techniques and applying new knowledge on the job.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a related field or an Information Technology related associate's degree with substituted relevant experience.
- A minimum of one year of professional experience in systems analysis, application design, or software development of business information systems.
- Experience substitution options available: additional graduate coursework may substitute for required experience, or one year of experience as an Information Systems Associate in training may be considered.
- Examination Method based on Education and Experience (100% for Preferred Service positions).
