Job Description

Position Overview

A nursing assistant is responsible for providing routine nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, ensuring that the highest quality resident care is maintained at all times. The role involves working closely with the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator to meet the needs of residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all assigned duties following the facility’s policies, including resident rounds, personal care, and meal assistance.
  • Ensure resident safety by verifying identification before care, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to infection control procedures.
  • Assist residents with daily activities such as dressing, bathing, oral care, and mobility, while ensuring dignity and respect.
  • Document care provided including food intake, hygiene routines, and incident reporting to the Charge Nurse.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, their family members, and healthcare personnel to address concerns promptly.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a nursing assistant program or licensed as a certified nursing assistant.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical experience during certification training.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must demonstrate a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged, and infirm with patience and tact.
  • Ability to interact respectfully with residents, their families, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Physical and emotional stability, with the ability to handle the demands of the role.
