Job Description

Position Overview

As the Director of Digital Marketing at Ivy Tech-Indianapolis, you will lead the development and execution of long-term digital marketing strategies that drive online engagement across multiple platforms. Working closely with cross-functional teams and agency partners, you will create compelling multimedia content, manage digital campaigns, and ensure consistency across all digital marketing channels. This role is pivotal within the Marketing & Communications team and supports the institution’s commitment to innovation, student success, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Execution – Develop and implement long-term digital marketing strategies aligned with campus goals and set measurable KPIs for campaigns.
  • Digital Marketing Expertise – Manage both paid and organic social media campaigns, create lifecycle-based programs for lead generation and retention, and employ tools like SEO and Google Analytics.
  • Creative Content Development – Oversee the production of video, photography, social media posts, emails, and blogs in collaboration with the Director of Content Marketing, ensuring content is optimized for digital and mobile platforms.
  • Project Management & Collaboration – Work with marketing, IT, and other internal teams to synchronize digital efforts, manage budgets, track ROI, and coordinate events incorporating digital strategies.
  • Technology & Innovation – Stay current with emerging digital trends and tools (including Salesforce Marketing Cloud) to enhance campaign execution and productivity.
  • Reporting & Analysis – Analyze digital metrics, provide regular campaign performance reports, and refine strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Leadership & Supervision – Potentially manage future team members and/or student interns while effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, content management systems, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Google Analytics, email marketing platforms (e.g. MailChimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud), social media management tools (e.g. Hootsuite), and project management software (e.g. Workzone).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a sound understanding of editorial standards and Associated Press style.
  • Proven creative and visual design ability with a focus on multimedia storytelling.
  • Demonstrated project management experience managing multiple digital projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to identify challenges, develop effective solutions, and adjust strategies for improved results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on digital marketing experience covering web pages, email marketing, social media, video content, and digital advertising.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A strong understanding of higher education marketing trends and challenges.

  • Compensation: $65,000 - $70,000 (based on experience)
