Position Overview
Elite Appliance and Carpet Exchange is seeking an Entry-Level Accountant with 2-4 years of accounting experience in a retail environment. In this role, you will support financial operations by maintaining general ledger entries, processing invoices and payments, preparing financial reports, reconciling bank and inventory transactions, assisting with tax and payroll support, and addressing queries from customers and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- General Ledger Maintenance – Assist with the preparation and maintenance of general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable – Process and reconcile invoices, payments, and customer accounts to ensure timely payments.
- Financial Reporting – Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
- Inventory Accounting – Collaborate with the inventory team to ensure proper accounting for stock and reconcile inventory transactions.
- Bank Reconciliation – Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Data Entry & Documentation – Maintain accurate records of financial transactions to support audits and reviews.
- Tax Preparation – Assist in the preparation of tax filings and related financial reports.
- Payroll Support – Support payroll with accurate data entry for employee compensation, benefits, and deductions.
- Customer and Vendor Relations – Address accounting-related inquiries promptly and professionally.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of work experience in accounting, preferably in a retail environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently when necessary.
- Basic knowledge of retail accounting and inventory management practices is a plus.
