Position Overview
This is an entry-level federal auditor position located exclusively in Seattle, WA with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). Compensation: Starting Salary $56k – $83k. The role is in-person and does not require prior auditing experience. Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration with at least 24 semester hours of accounting, which may include up to 6 hours in business law) along with a minimum GPA of 2.95. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, perform, and report contract audit assignments related to procurement and contracting activities between the Federal Government and contractors.
- Prepare working papers and analyze contractor data using automation tools.
- Execute assigned audit steps such as tests and examinations of contractors’ direct labor and material costs.
- Verify reports, records, ledgers, and other documents against invoices, receipts, payroll slips, and related source documents.
- Ensure appropriateness of charges for materials and labor and confirm accurate transaction recording.
- Maintain audit working papers, including preparation of schedules, summaries, and reconciliations as required.
- Collaborate with team members by providing updates, sharing information, and recommending necessary revisions.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting or a related field (including Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Public Administration) with at least 24 semester hours of accounting (may include up to 6 hours in business law)
- Minimum GPA of 2.95
