Position Overview
Dameron Hospital is a fully accredited, non‑profit, 200+ bed community hospital providing acute and tertiary level care to San Joaquin County residents. Now managed by Adventist Health, the hospital is renowned for its high quality care, multiple state and national recognitions, and its designation as a Blue Distinction® Center for Bariatric Surgery and Knee and Hip Replacements.
This role organizes and facilitates patient care in the Operating Room (OR) by coordinating between the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and OR staff. The incumbent functions as a first assistant during procedures and participates in preoperative assessments and planning in collaboration with the healthcare team. Compensation: $51.52 - $74.22 hourly.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizes and facilitates patient care while in the Operating Room (OR).
- Coordinates overall care between the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and OR staff.
- Functions as a first assistant during surgical incision, excision, and repair procedures for which privileges have been granted.
- Participates in preoperative assessment and planning for selected surgical patients in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Regularly demonstrates subject matter expertise in medication, treatment, and patient care standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school/college of nursing.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
- Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) licensure in the state of practice.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Two years' perioperative nursing experience.
- Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Status (PEARS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Membership in the Association of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN).
