Position Overview

Our client, a major player in the automotive industry located in Detroit, Michigan, is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Powertrain Systems Engineer. This role involves the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced powertrain systems for next-generation vehicles. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and emissions compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define system requirements for advanced powertrain solutions
  • Develop system architectures and design integration strategies
  • Conduct simulations and analyses (e.g., using GT-SUITE, MATLAB/Simulink)
  • Specify components and oversee calibration efforts
  • Perform vehicle-level validation testing

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive powertrain development
  • Strong knowledge of powertrain control systems, emissions regulations, and vehicle testing procedures
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
