In the role of Junior Designer within the Design / Art Direction department, you will be an integral part of an energetic, diverse team where every day is a new opportunity to create impactful visual stories. This full-time position, based in Portland, offers a hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Use visual thinking and hands-on design skills to solve strategic business challenges.
- Provide a unique perspective, inspiring concepts, and visual support for projects.
- Flex and showcase a variety of creative skills.
- Collaborate effectively with team members across the agency.
- Deliver client-ready assets for social, out of home, brand marketing, advertising, web, events, print, and presentation deck design.
- Craft and elevate visually engaging presentations that transform ideas into impactful visual stories.
- Thrive in a diverse environment and contribute to the overall culture of Day One.
- Work alongside creative professionals including TREND FORECASTERS, WRITERS, DESIGNERS, PRODUCERS, PEOPLE PERSONS, DIGITAL NATIVES, CULTURE HEADS, INTERNET ARCHAEOLOGISTS, MEME HISTORIANS.
- Collaborate with team members such as ORGANIZERS, GLOBETROTTERS, DROPOUTS, SKATE SHOP ALUMNI, FORMER BARISTAS, SELF-TAUGHT DEVS, INDIE PUBLISHERS, FINE ARTISTS, SMALL-TOWN ESCAPEES.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in design.
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Keynote, and Google Slides.
- Multi-disciplinary design portfolio.
- Experience designing across platforms including digital, print, and experiential media.
- Skilled in multitasking and prioritizing workloads to meet tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to take projects from concept through final design execution.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate creative concepts and apply solutions to business challenges.
- Collaborative mindset to iterate on and evolve concepts through constructive feedback.
- Energetic and committed with a proactive, “yes” attitude.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.

The Company is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base compensation range for this role is $55,000 - $60,000; final compensation will depend on relevant work experience, skills, qualifications, and location. In addition to the salary, this role is eligible for benefits including medical insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, paid parental leave, and referral bonuses.
