Job Description
Position Overview
The Pre-Approval Specialist (PAL Specialist) works with the Consumer Direct Sales Division to assist licensed Purchase Loan Officers by gathering critical loan information from customers and guiding them through the pre-approval process. This role offers a unique opportunity as the first position in our training program and provides support regarding NMLS licensing. Must be onsite in Las Vegas, NV.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers and licensed Purchase Loan Officers with gathering loan information and documentation to provide an underwritten pre-approval.
- Engage and establish rapport with customers via email and telephone communication.
- Educate both customers and Purchase Loan Officers on next steps in the pre-approval process.
- Follow up with all parties regarding conditional items needed to complete the loan pre-approval process.
- Input and manage data related to mortgage loan information in the computer system.
- Disposition customer files appropriately based on customer interest and eligibility to proceed.
- Assist previously pre-approved customers (PAL Incubation) to determine if further assistance is needed.
- Support customers with the eConsent and eSign processes and review credit reports in collaboration with licensed Loan Officers or credit repair institutions.
Required Qualifications
- Previous or current call center, inside customer service, or sales experience.
- Proficiency in communicating effectively via phone and email.
- Knowledge of the mortgage loan refinance or home buying process.
- Outgoing, energetic, hardworking, and willing to learn.
- Excellent customer service, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Passion for helping customers achieve their financial goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of office, inside customer service, or call center experience.
- 1+ years of experience in the mortgage or real estate industry.
- 2+ years of customer service and/or sales experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Must have passed the NMLS Safe Exam and completed 20 hours of SAFE training prior to starting.
