Position Overview

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Level Data Analyst to join a highly respected utilities organization. In this role you will be responsible for collecting, reviewing, validating, and structuring business data for interpretation; performing statistical, quantitative, and predictive analysis to derive insights that support better business decisions; and serving as the data steward for your discipline. You will also teach others the tools, techniques, and best practices in self-service reporting and data handling, while helping determine enterprise data needs and strategy, including development of data policies and standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, review, validate, and structure business data for interpretation.
  • Perform statistical, quantitative, and predictive analysis to derive actionable insights.
  • Serve as the data steward for all data within the discipline.
  • Teach tools, techniques, and best practices in self-service reporting and data handling.
  • Help determine enterprise data needs and develop data strategy, policies, and standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related role (Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or Data Analyst).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate efficiently with stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with traveling to meet with stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced skills with statistical packages (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS, Stata, MATLAB, etc.).
  • Expert knowledge of applied research design, including multivariate analysis.
  • Experience in articulating product questions, extracting data from relational databases (e.g., SAP, PeopleSoft, ORACLE, SQL), and using statistical tools for in-depth business analysis.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Webi, Analysis, Lumira, Tableau, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Skilled in the data model and functionality of BW and BOBJ (Business Objects) tools.
  • A self-starter committed to advancing their skills in data, analytics, and technical capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in developing new analysts and building a strong data and analytical team.
  • Deep interest and aptitude in data, metrics, analysis, trends, statistics, and program evaluation.
  • Distinctive problem-solving skills combined with strong business acumen.
  • Ability to translate analysis results into actionable business recommendations.
