Job Description

Position Overview

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Travel EKG Technician for a 13-week travel assignment at a facility in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, you will assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions by performing EKG tests that record and monitor the electrical impulses of the heart.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attach EKG electrodes to patients to monitor heart activity and remove them once the test is complete
  • Educate patients and/or family members regarding the function and process of EKG examinations
  • Administer stress tests and Holter monitor procedures
  • Monitor and record electrocardiogram readings and identify abnormal patterns for physician review
  • Observe, record, and report patient status and any abnormal findings appropriately
  • Monitor EKG equipment and report any malfunctions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Practice infection prevention through consistent hand hygiene, use of PPE, and adherence to isolation precautions

Required Qualifications

  • One year’s recent experience as an EKG Technician
  • Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Capacity to work effectively with diverse personnel in a professional manner
  • Demonstrated fine motor skills and technical proficiency when handling equipment
  • Ability to work under pressure with continuous concentration to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional certifications and licenses as required
  • EKG Certification (ETC, CCT, or CET)
