Position Overview

This role requires the employee to work onsite at the Location: Austin, Texas office location. Meet the Team – The ENT (Enterprise) Hardware Assurance team supports electrical hardware validation testing across a broad range of products, including Cisco 8000 Series Routers, Catalyst 9000 switches, and IoT devices. In this role, you will collaborate with teams spanning Hardware Design, ASIC Design, Power Engineering, Signal Integrity, Diagnostic Engineering, and Software Engineering to validate complex hardware platforms and deliver innovative products to market. Salary: $95,700.00 to $131,200.00 per year (base), with additional incentive compensation details available based on location and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate hardware platforms for Cisco’s networking products, including Ethernet copper and optical interfaces, PoE solutions, and IoT connectivity.
  • Modify test scripts and validate products to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Participate in developing and implementing AI solutions for hardware validation.
  • Collaborate with a project team to specify, design, develop, and test hardware, including defining unit and system-level test processes and procedures.
  • Perform complex system-level unit and integration tests, debug issues, and mitigate system-level problems.
  • Assist with root cause analysis of field issues and support customer concerns.
  • Work alongside software engineers to develop an AI model for analyzing test results.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in computer engineering or computer science with 2+ years of hardware validation experience, or Master's degree in computer engineering or computer science with 1+ years of experience.
  • Experience with test and measurement equipment, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and network traffic generators.
  • Experience with hardware blocks and subsystems, including CPU/microcontrollers, data paths, control paths, and clocking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in AI development tools or frameworks.
  • Understanding of signal and power integrity principles.
  • Ability to apply networking principles and field concepts to product testing.
  • Ability to draw parallels between hardware architecture, networking product architecture, and OSI networking fundamentals.
  • Understanding of L2/L3 routing and switching, LAN/WAN topologies, and Cisco router and switch configurations using IPv4/IPv6/MPLS/VRF.
  • Experience with instrument control and automation, with Python or Visual Studio code scripting skills.
