Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and innovative Machine Learning Engineer to join our growing team in Los Angeles, CA. In this role, you’ll leverage cutting-edge AI techniques to drive advancements in medical imaging—improving diagnostic tools and patient care. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals, data scientists, and engineers to design and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning models that enhance the reliability and performance of imaging systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI models to improve the accuracy and efficiency of medical imaging systems using advanced computer vision and deep learning techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including healthcare professionals, data scientists, and engineers to ensure AI solutions meet clinical needs and regulatory standards.
- Enhance diagnostic tools by building predictive models that identify diseases or abnormalities in medical images.
- Continuously monitor, test, and refine machine learning models using new datasets and clinical feedback.
- Oversee data collection and processing pipelines ensuring adherence to high-quality and ethical data management practices.
- Ensure all AI and medical imaging solutions comply with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and FDA standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning within the team.
Required Qualifications
- Strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision with hands-on experience in model development and optimization.
- Proven expertise in medical imaging including image processing, segmentation, and feature extraction using modalities like MRI, CT, and X-rays.
- Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch and familiarity with cloud platforms for AI deployment.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations and ethical data handling practices, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other guidelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams in fast-paced, innovative environments.
- A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree (MSc or Ph.D.) is highly preferred.
