Job Description
Position Overview
This opportunity is for a Data Scientist product role at Google designed primarily for master’s students in their penultimate academic year pursuing a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, biostatistics, physics, applied mathematics, operations research, economics or related fields). Applicants must be located in the United States for the duration of the program. Please complete your application before October 31st, 2025 as applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct data analysis to generate business or product recommendations (e.g., cost-benefit, invest-divest, forecasting, impact analysis).
- Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations through clear visual displays of quantitative information.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs, gather relevant data, and produce scalable deliverables.
- Help Google focus on key decisions to improve products and services through actionable insights.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Sciences, etc.).
- Experience working with statistical packages (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, etc.).
- Experience articulating product questions, pulling data from datasets (SQL), and leveraging statistics for decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently attending a degree program in the US and available to work full time for 12 weeks outside of university term time.
- In the penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship.
- Ability to translate analysis results into clear business recommendations.
- Strong interest and ability to work with data, metrics, trends, and applied measurement techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and written/verbal communication skills with sound business judgment.
