Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their innovative team in Miami, Florida, US. This critical role will focus on optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, implementing new technologies, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in lean manufacturing principles, process improvement, and project management, with a proven ability to drive significant operational enhancements. You will collaborate closely with production teams, R&D, and quality assurance to achieve manufacturing excellence.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Analyze existing production methods to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Lead lean manufacturing initiatives, including value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen events, and Six Sigma projects.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and validation of new manufacturing equipment and technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum output.
  • Collaborate with R&D and product design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
  • Develop and manage project plans for process improvement initiatives, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Train and mentor production staff on new processes and equipment.
  • Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in manufacturing technologies and best practices.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations on manufacturing performance and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree: Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum experience: 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on process optimization and improvement.
  • Proven experience: with lean manufacturing principles and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
  • Strong knowledge: of production equipment, automation, and control systems.
  • Proficiency: in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Excellent skills: analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong understanding: of quality control and safety standards in manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication: interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability: to work effectively in a team environment and manage cross-functional projects.
  • Experience: in the specific manufacturing sector relevant to the company is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt: to evolving manufacturing technologies and processes.
