This position is responsible for financial analysis duties supporting both Financial Planning & Analysis and Corporate Development, involving both project-based and daily/monthly activities. PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION IS HYBRID - IN OFFICE 3 DAYS A WEEK - LOCATED IN ALLENTOWN, PA.
Senior Financial Analyst Responsibilities
- Provides analytical support to PPL's corporate financial functions including various scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Assists with compiling and analyzing financial information to meet management reporting requirements, including reconciliations and variance explanations.
- Participates in developing presentations and materials for key stakeholders such as executive management, the Board of Directors, rating agencies, and the investment community.
- Contributes to special projects and ad hoc financial analysis under direct supervision.
- Assists in developing, streamlining, and maintaining flexible financial models.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with business lines and corporate support groups while preparing monthly and quarterly reports.
- Complies with all policies and standards and performs other duties as assigned.
Financial Specialist Responsibilities
- Provides analytical support to PPL's corporate financial functions, including scenario and sensitivity analysis, under minimal direction.
- Develops a strong working knowledge of PPL’s corporate forecasting model (Utilities International financial software) and drives its ongoing development.
- Assists with compiling and analyzing financial information for management reporting requirements, including reconciliations and variance explanations.
- Participates in preparing presentations and materials for key stakeholders such as executive management, the Board of Directors, rating agencies, and the investment community.
- Contributes to special projects and ad hoc financial analysis with minimal supervision.
- Assists in developing, streamlining, and maintaining flexible financial models.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with business lines and corporate support groups while preparing monthly and quarterly reports.
- Performs other duties as directed.
Required Qualifications
Senior Financial Analyst:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of financial experience.
- Possesses foundational knowledge and is in the process of developing higher-level skills in the discipline.
Financial Specialist:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- At least 7 years of financial experience, which may include co-op assignments.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Robust analysis, research, and complex problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Senior Financial Analyst:
- Master's degree in Finance or Accounting.
- CFA/CPA certification.
- Understanding of the power/utility sector.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
- Ability to perform analysis with an understanding of big picture implications and a willingness to solve problems.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- A self-starter with a natural sense of urgency, curiosity, and initiative.
Financial Specialist:
- Over 5 years of experience in the utility industry.
- CFA/CPA certification.
- Understanding of the power/utility sector.
- Knowledge of Utilities International Financial software.
