Based in Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) operates a state‐of‐the‐art facility for national security products. The Mechanical Engineer II role is a professional position responsible for performing and analyzing routine to moderately complex engineering functions, including quality control designs and reliable, cost‐effective manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in the design and/or project/process management of new and current projects, products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment under the technical guidance of higher-level engineers.
- Assists in the preparation of product or project definitions, manufacturing drawings and specifications, operating procedures, and test equipment designs.
- Assists in the development of electrical and/or environmental test procedures and performs routine to moderately complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, and data reviews.
- Defines and acquires tooling, cables, and other equipment necessary to manufacture or inspect parts to ensure product quality.
- Interacts with design agencies, suppliers, and internal organizations to resolve design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
- Evaluates and recommends technological advances that improve productivity and quality, reduce flowtime, and enhance operational surety.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics
- 2+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management
- United States Citizenship
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job
- Ability to obtain and maintain, if required, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance

- Applies analytical skills to reviewing engineering designs and specifications to achieve efficient and reliable processes
