Job Description

Position Overview

The Account Executive, Group Sales role is responsible for generating new group ticket revenue and creating memorable group experiences for the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, and PHX Arena. This role focuses on prospecting, cultivating, and closing new business while renewing and expanding existing group accounts. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a competitive sales environment, excels at building relationships with schools, youth sports teams, businesses, and community organizations, and has a coachable mindset to adapt in a fast-paced setting. In addition, this position contributes to shaping overall group sales strategies that support both short- and long-term organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively generate group ticket revenue across all Player 15 Group properties through outbound sales efforts including phone calls, emails, virtual meetings, and in-person presentations.
  • Consistently exceed weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals as well as activity minimum standards.
  • Create tailored experiences and packages for group leaders to drive attendance and engagement.
  • Identify and prospect new business opportunities through lead generation, referrals, networking events, and market research.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects while tracking all activity using internal systems (e.g., CRM).
  • Provide best-in-class service by managing the planning, communication, and execution of group outings.
  • Attend games and events to host clients, execute group programs, and drive upsell opportunities.
  • Support department-wide initiatives that contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in group ticketing strategy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of sales experience (preferably outbound, ticket sales, B2B, fundraising, or hospitality sales).
  • A self-driven attitude with a disciplined work ethic and a motivation to drive revenue growth while fostering long-term customer relationships.
  • A proven record of understanding customer needs in a commission, bonus, and/or metrics-driven environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for relationship building.
  • Comfortable with cold calling, in-person meetings, and event hosting.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Ticketmaster Archtics, Microsoft Office, and CRM platforms.
  • Strong desire to grow a career in sports ticket sales and service.
