Key Responsibilities

  • Supports & assists the Pharmacist in the medication use process by providing safe and efficient medication management & patient care to patients (neonate to geriatric), physicians, employees, and the public.
  • Follows appropriate guidelines under the supervision of the pharmacist for medication preparation and distribution.
  • Works in a team-oriented environment with flexibility to ensure timely delivery of medications.
  • Performs tasks including IV admixture; assisting with the dispensing of medications; maintaining medications in unit‐based cabinets; obtaining verbal refill approvals from providers’ offices; insurance verification; working with technology; and delivering medications.

Required Qualifications

  • Active National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
  • Must hold either Pharmacy Technician (PHT), KY or Pharmacy Intern (PHI), KY. (Registration for licensure is available via the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience working in a pharmacy.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
