The Sales & Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in venue awareness, guest engagement, and revenue growth at the Petersen Events Center and Victory Heights Arena at the University of Pittsburgh. This role involves planning and executing creative sales and marketing initiatives, content development, and strategies to drive private event and show premium revenue in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify strategies and opportunities for private event & show premium seating sales.
- Proactively solicit new business through sales calls and client prospecting to expand the potential client database.
- Exceed monthly and yearly revenue targets set by management.
- Manage private event and show premium space inquiries and coordinate with event managers.
- Track premium ticket sales and perform payment reconciliation.
- Compile and analyze sales recaps and departmental projection reports.
- Oversee the client database for premium seating prospects and follow up periodically.
- Maintain an active role in the local hospitality community and professional associations.
- Assist in content management for the venue website and design digital/print marketing materials using Adobe, Canva, or similar tools.
- Schedule and monitor posts across social media platforms while ensuring brand integrity and prompt responses to inquiries.
- Support the development of email campaigns to promote events and premium offerings.
- Assist with on-site show event media as needed and conduct facility tours for prospective clients.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in sales & marketing.
- Basic photography/videography skills with familiarity in editing software (Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
- Strong understanding of event and hospitality sales strategies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Adaptability to evolving sales strategies and market changes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- A creative mindset with eagerness to learn and innovate.
- Proactive approach in the sales process.
