Key Responsibilities
- Process and review accounts payable documents and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update vendor records, including contact information and payment terms.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve any discrepancies or issues with invoices.
- Reconcile accounts payable statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly financial reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for accurate and timely processing of payments.
- Monitor and maintain accounts payable aging to ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to streamline the accounts payable process.
- Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, regulations, and policies.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions.
- Assist in other accounting tasks and projects as needed.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality standards when handling sensitive financial information.
- Train and provide support to other team members as needed.
- Represent the City of Seattle in a professional and positive manner.
