Key Responsibilities

  • Process and review accounts payable documents and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and update vendor records, including contact information and payment terms.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve any discrepancies or issues with invoices.
  • Reconcile accounts payable statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly financial reports.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for accurate and timely processing of payments.
  • Monitor and maintain accounts payable aging to ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to streamline the accounts payable process.
  • Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, regulations, and policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions.
  • Assist in other accounting tasks and projects as needed.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality standards when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Train and provide support to other team members as needed.
  • Represent the City of Seattle in a professional and positive manner.
