Job Description

Position Overview

The University of Miami Health IT Department is seeking a Full-time Business Analyst 3 - Financial Products to support the execution of critical financial projects and processes within the Business Applications team. This role involves analyzing business needs, designing effective solutions, and ensuring the successful implementation of financial systems by working collaboratively with financial stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and triage application issues; maintain detailed support documentation, test releases, and perform system maintenance.
  • Provide training and support for internal users.
  • Monitor system availability in collaboration with system administrators and business systems analysts.
  • Recommend changes to development and system standards while developing action plans with defined goals and timelines.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with management regarding project activities.
  • Flowchart current processes, prepare time and cost estimates, conduct benchmarking research, and implement process improvements.
  • Apply industrial and management engineering techniques to optimize workflows and overall system performance.
  • Design production, inventory control, and management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost analysis.
  • Improve productivity by leveraging technology and establishing supply chain management standards.
  • Collect and analyze data to measure improvements and create formal presentations detailing methodologies, results, and cost savings.
  • Analyze and document business requirements for financial projects and implement effective technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with financial stakeholders, lead projects utilizing project management methodologies, and provide guidance to junior analysts.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and facilitate knowledge transfer and training on new systems and processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Workday Financials.
  • Proven experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and systems.
  • Ability to analyze and document business requirements effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in Workday.
  • 3+ years of experience in business systems analysis with a focus on financial systems and processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs including Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific technology and solutions.
