Position Overview

The role of a System Technician in Telecommunication Services is critical – you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot both telecommunication and security systems to ensure reliable service delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain telecommunication hardware, software, and security systems according to industry best practices.
  • Conduct routine system inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure integrity and prevent service interruptions.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, network faults, and hardware failures to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with network engineers, field technicians, and customer support to implement upgrades and resolve issues.
  • Document system configurations, maintenance activities, and incident reports to support continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Must hold a Massachusetts Systems Technician D license or Journeyman B license (or equivalent in other states).
  • Experience with residential and commercial security systems installation, programming, and service (Burglar, Fire, Access Control, Video, Intercom, and networking).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle; background checks required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electronics, telecommunications, or related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting in a technical or telecommunication environment; strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in relevant technologies such as CompTIA Network, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent.
  • Experience with fiber optic systems, VoIP technologies, and wireless communication equipment.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools, diagnostic software, and safety standards in telecommunication installations.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced telecommunication service provider environment.
