Job Description

Position Overview

The Buyer, under general supervision and reporting to the Director of Operations, is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery and quality performance of the Purchase to Pay operational processes at the designated site. This role manages daily supply chain operations – from material procurement and incoming inspections to supplier performance reviews – and drives continuous improvement in operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the delivery and quality performance of the Purchase to Pay processes.
  • Manage daily quality and delivery performance of the supply network.
  • Oversee incoming inspection results and initiate corrective actions.
  • Ensure continuous supply of goods and materials and communicate supply issues.
  • Assist the Supply Chain Manager in maintaining proper inventory levels.
  • Manage the tooling database at supplier locations.
  • Support buying initiatives for specific commodity groups.
  • Conduct monthly performance reviews for strategic supplier planning.
  • Provide support in supplier contract negotiations.
  • Develop and implement vendor managed inventory systems.
  • Identify and drive strategies to improve operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Execute special projects and assignments as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering
  • 3 years of SAP buyer experience using ERP systems
  • 5-7 years of supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Fluent English – reading and writing is required
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, team development and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Government Defense Procurement experience is strongly preferred
  • Flexible, open-minded listener/learner with a focus on continuous process improvement
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with leadership and external stakeholders
