Medical Assistant or LPN Endocrinology

Position Overview

At Monument Health, you will play a key role in delivering compassionate, patient‐focused care in an ambulatory clinic setting. Whether you join us as a Medical Assistant or as an LPN, you will work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team in Rapid City, SD, contributing to a culture grounded in teamwork, professionalism, mutual respect, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange examination and treatment spaces according to clinic standards.
• Perform patient rooming activities including taking vital signs and collecting essential data.
• Document and administer unit dose medications/immunizations following clinic guidelines.
• Carry out electrocardiograms and laboratory examinations after completing required training and competency evaluations.
• Manage administrative duties, supply management, and scheduling of follow-up care as directed.
• Distribute approved patient education materials and advise patients to consult with providers for concerns.
• Undertake all other duties as assigned in accordance with Monument Health’s policies.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent; Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant program or training facility.
• Certification: Medical Assistant-Certified (MA) by a recognized certifying body and Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification (AHA) – obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer.
• For Medical Assistants: Note that hires between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2024 may be granted 6 months to obtain national certification, while hires after July 1, 2024 must hold one of the national certifications: AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or AMCA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.
• Certification: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Experience: 1+ years of Clinical Experience and 1+ years of Healthcare Experience.

Benefits & Perks

• Compensation: Starting Pay Rate Range of $19.66 - $28.45
  (Medical Assistant: $19.66-$22.60; Licensed Practical Nurse: $24.75-$28.45), determined by the applicant’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
• Sign On Bonus: UP TO $5,000 SIGN ON for qualified Medical Assistant candidates and UP TO $10,000 SIGN ON for qualified LPN candidates.
• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours.
• Location: Rapid City, SD, USA – Department: MHMC-RC Flormann St. Endocrinology.
