In this role you will develop relay settings and protection strategies for distribution assets, working remotely within a client-focused grid engineering team. You will support protection design, model power systems, and prepare technical documentation to drive reliable electric utility operations. You will collaborate with engineers and provide remote field support during installations, contributing to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. This position offers growth in protection engineering and hands-on impact on utility reliability.
Compensation / Benefits
- Develop relay settings and protection philosophies for distribution equipment (transformers, bus, CB control, feeders)
- Review protection and control design packages
- Provide remote field support during relay settings installations
- Model electrical systems in CAPE, ASPEN, and CYME
- Create thorough technical reports, calculations, and documentation
- Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing
Tasks
- BS in Engineering
- 3+ years developing relay settings and protection philosophies for transmission, sub-transmission or distribution equipment
- 3+ years in electrical engineering theories/principles
