Customs Specialist

Position Overview

Addison Group is partnering with our client to hire a Customs Specialist / Entry Writer in Memphis, TN. In this full-time, onsite role, you will manage import documentation and ensure compliance with international trade regulations. You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced logistics environment requiring strong knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, excellent communication skills, and exceptional attention to detail. Compensation: $18.75 – $25 / hour based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit customs entries and supporting documentation for import shipments.
• Classify goods under the correct tariff codes and determine applicable duties and taxes.
• Communicate with carriers, customs officials, and clients to ensure clearance accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
• Monitor and track shipments to prevent delays and compliance issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
• Support logistics teams to ensure efficient coordination of international shipments.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in customs brokerage, entry writing, or trade compliance.
• Strong understanding of import/export documentation and classification procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and customs systems (ACE, ABI, or similar).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or international business.
• Customs broker license or certification.
