Responsibilities
The Accounting Manager's key duties include:
- Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
- Reviewing and preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses.
- Performing monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities and assisting in financial statement preparation.
- Managing fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Assessing internal controls through risk assessments and improving procedures as necessary.
- Coordinating audits with external accounting firms and preparing audit workpapers.
- Handling various accounting functions such as sales and property tax filings, management reporting, and cost-saving analyses.
- Overseeing daily transactional processes in the Finance department and updating management on workflow.
- Supporting the accounting team with manufacturing variance reviews and accounts payable/receivable review/postings.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Preferably public accounting experience.
- Over five years of progressive experience in manufacturing and/or general accounting.
- A strong understanding of manufacturing accounting and variance analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems, with JD Edwards preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision and efficiently manage personal and team workflows.
